Naomi Campbell studied ballet at Italia Conti Academy Of Theatre Arts but was spotted by a modelling agent when she was 15. Within a year, she had appeared on the cover of British Elle. She became one of the Big Six supermodels of the 1990s. During her career, she has graced the covers of more than 500 magazines and was the first black model to appear on the cover of TIME magazine, French Vogue and Russian Vogue. She has fronted campaigns for Burberry, Prada, Versace, Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton, Yves Saint Laurent and Valentino. She is known for her charitable fund-raising work, in recognition of which Nelson Mandela named her “Honorary Granddaughter”.

Lesley-Ann Jones is a journalist and author who has worked as a features writer and columnist for the Daily Mail, the Mail on Sunday and the Sunday Express. She has written widely on music, including biographies of Marc Bolan and Freddie Mercury. She has three children and lives in London.
